The culvert supports a 17m deep railway embankment over the Vilawade nallah. The top of the embankment is 17m above the top of the culvert. The culvert is a three-cell box, each cell of about 5.7m width. The length of the culvert is about 88m. The culvert is 7m deep. A folded roof slab permitted use of slender reinforced concrete members. The embankment accommodates several lines of a railway yard as well as platforms.
