ROB at Chayapuri & Pilol, Gujurat

This bridge carries the Vadodara - Ahmedabad expressway over the Railway between stations Chayapuri & Pilol. The bridge comprises two end reinforced concrete spans of 13m each, and one central prestressed concrete span of 24m.  The bridge has two deckings each supporting  three lanes of roadway and services way. The abutments are of the spill through type supported on in–situ reinforced concrete bored piles 750mm dia terminated in dense sandy strata.

The prestressed  precast girder of the central spans are cast on the ground, lifted up and rolled into the span on staging and side shifted. The decking slab comprises precast slabs and an in - situ concrete topping which act monolithically for live loads and superimposed dead loads.
